« on: December 15, 2015, 07:24:59 AM »
Raila wrote letter to all the banks that were involved in eurobond. Few kwesson
1. Does anyone have a list of banks that were contacted?
2. How many banks have responded?
3. Would it be possible to obtain the bank/embassy email address?
4. How can I as a private kenya assist to make the banks comply with the request for information?

It's hard to say if Raila has actually contacted them.  Given that it is never clear when he is serious and when he is playing to the gallery.

There should be a mechanism that allows citizens to have ready access to this information.  Through state institutions.

If parliament PAC cared enough, they should be able to demand and get this information.  Then Wanjiku can demand it from them through freedom of information request.

@Pundit,

I think confidential should not apply to a request from a legitimate state organ regarding public funds.

I think information can be got through Information Act; and if anyone refuses; then you go to court and get a court order. Certainly banks will not reveal their client (treasury) details; Otherwise what will stop me and you from asking for all sort of banking accounts held by GoK. You have to show cause and they're probably going to do it only if the court orders them.
